Educational program

Music at the La Folle Journée Festival captivates not only seasoned music lovers. Thanks to variegated promotional and educational activities, each year attracts new listeners of all ages.

The program of the Festival includes Smykofonia (Toddler Philharmonic) concerts (www.smykofonia.pl), intended for the youngest listeners aged 0-5 and their families. The Festival is also associated with the Labyrinth Event educational program (www.akcjalabirynt.pl), addressed to children, youths and teachers in Warsaw schools. Smykofonia and the Labyrinth Event are organised by the Music is for Everyone Foundation (www.muzykajest.pl), which works together with the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra.

In 2012 artistic workshops organised in the headquarters of the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra were attended by more than 2700 elementary school students.

In addition, the performance of Stravinsky Hip Hop took place on the first day of the Festival (http://www.akcjalabirynt.pl/akcja-animacyjno-artystyczna/poprzednie-edycje/), based on Igor Stravinsky’s L’Histoire du Soldat. The performance formed the backbone of an artistic and promotional action organised by junior high school and high school students in Warsaw’s Praga Południe district. The following schools participated in the program: the General Jakub Jasiński High School no. 72, the Culinary and Hotel Services School Complex at Majdańska Street, the Communications Vocational School and the Agnieszka Osiecka High School and the Bolesław Prus Junior High School no. 19.
